Doodle Jump Wiki

Doodle Jump DC Super Heroes is a DC Comics version of Doodle Jump that was released in November 2014 for Apple and mid-2015 for Android and Kindle devices. The game got pulled from the store in 2017 and is now no longer available.

Gameplay[]

The gameplay is similar to that of the original Doodle Jump, however this version adds an upgrade system to the gadgets found on the platforms. You can upgrade your items with crystals, which can be bought through in-app purchases and gained in playthroughs.

The boss system is also different in this game. For example, instead of all the bosses appearing frequently, one boss follows you for a certain period of time until you kill the monster. Most monsters in this game is themed to a Batman villain, such as The Joker, Mr. Freeze, Bane, Penguin and the Riddler.[7] There are exceptions to some monsters as some can appear in basic horizontally-stripped robber outfits.

Reception[]

When the iOS version of the game released in November of 2014, many believed this to be a "safe approach" for Lima Sky to take, since many thought that they were relying on the same format for around five years at that point in time.[1] Meanwhile, others thought that the game was lighthearted fun that added new features to an already fun format of mobile game.[8]

When the game got delisted in 2017, fans of the game were questioning why the game was delisted and if anyone still remembered playing the game in the past.[9]

Trivia[]

  • In press releases, DC Comics promised there would be future updates to include Superman and Wonder Woman powers, but that never came into fruition.[8]
  • In July of 2015, the game added the Mad Hatter as a boss.[10]
